These pumps are used where customers need a higher horsepower (HP) for a short time like for backwashing their swimming pool filters, pump priming, vacuuming etc., but can operate them for everyday use at a much lower HP. The Low HP's are 1/8th of the High HP's, and use only about 25%-33% as much electricity, thus offering a great savings compared to the energy usage at the higher HP. The low HP delivers 1/2 the flow of the high HP.
